Beauty therapy in the comfort of your own home
Mobile beauty therapy in Beckenham, Bromley and Southeast London. No more struggling to put on flip flops after a pedicure. No more rushing to the car in case someone sees you post spray-tan. No more having to get dressed and drive home after a massage. Kate brings salon quality treatments to your door-step.
Nails
Nail polish used: CND Shellac and Vinylux long wear polish
Shellac removal is included in all of my nail services with the exception of a Shape & Paint, I would much rather your Shellac was removed safely than picked off. The removal charge only applies if that is the only service you require or your previous gel or shellac product was applied elsewhere.
Lashes & Brows
24 hour patch test is required before having eyelash or eyebrow tint.
Threading
Waxing
Hot wax: Additional £15 per area for a bikini and underarm.
Hot wax takes a lot longer to reach the required temperature and being mobile it isn’t practical to always carry it in the car. If this is your preferred choice of wax, please let me know and I will ensure I have it warmed up and ready for you.
Please prepare for your waxing by having your skin free or body lotions, oils and deodorant. Avoid any heat treatments–sunbeds, saunas, steam or swimming.
Massage
Facials
Neal’s Yard organic skincare is used for all facials.
No ones skin is the same so rather than have a set facial I’d rather have a chat with you individually and discuss what you really need. Whether it be to relax with a massage or your skins needs of a deep cleanse with the steamer and extractions.
Spray Tan
For the best tanning results, prepare your skin with a full exfoliation using a body scrub 24 hours prior to your tan. Remove any hair you wish.
At the time of your appointment please ensure your skin is free of all body lotion, oils and deodorant.

About Kate
Over 20 years experience
Hi, I’m Kate. I’ve been working as a beauty therapist since 1999 and have worked in spas across the UK and USA. I set up Beauty by Kate 10 years ago to have greater flexibility whilst raising a young family. My mission is to provide happiness through beauty therapy in the convenience of your own home. Over the years I have had the privilege to develop friendships with many of my clients. I’m truly grateful for their support and have been lucky to meet so many lovely people throughout my career.
NVQ 2 & 3 Beauty Therapy at West Kent College
Fully licensed by Bromley Council with full BABTAC insurance
Mobile beauty therapy in:
Beckenham, Penge, Anerley, Crystal Palace, Sydenham, West Wickham, Bromley, Petts Wood, Hayes and Biggin Hill.
How far do you travel?
I am based in Beckenham.
The majority of my clients live in Beckenham, Penge, Anerley, Crystal Palace, Sydenham, West Wickham, Bromley, Petts wood, Hayes and Biggin Hill, with a few exceptions.
If you don’t live in these areas, just ask and if I can’t come to you then I may know someone else that covers your area. [email protected]
What Days do you work?
Being mobile I can be pretty flexible so it’s always worth asking: [email protected]
I start at 8 am and stop for a break at 5pm, recommencing at 7pm until about 10pm. I try to have one day off a week for paperwork and washing the mountain of towels!
Evening appointments are really popular and get booked up the quickest.
How far in advance do I need to book?
The more notice the better. Especially if you have a specific date and time in mind.
Evening appointments generally get booked quicker so require longer notice.
That said, I can often squeeze in last minute requests, especially if I’m already in your area, so it’s always worth asking! [email protected]
What do I need to provide?
I pretty much bring everything with me except the kitchen sink, so usually all I need is a little bit of water.
For Waxing, Massage and Facials, I need enough room to be able to put up my couch and would need to be on a ground floor.
For Shellac and Manicures a dining room or kitchen table works best.
Pedicures you need a comfy place to sit, I’ll bring my own stool, if you could provide a small hand towel then I’m always grateful, but don’t worry if you can’t, I’ll bring my own.
Spray tans and carpet just don’t mix so would need to be done on a washable floor. Although they are done in a pop-up tent there is always the possibility of some over spray and excess tan in the bottom of the tent.
How do I pay?
You can pay on the day of your appointment with cash, cheque, bank transfer or gift voucher if someone lovely has paid in advance for you.
All bank transfers need to be completed on the day of your appointment unless agreed in advance otherwise.
Can I buy a gift voucher?
Yes! I have some ready printed gift vouchers, you can purchase treatments or a monetary amount so the receiver can choose for themselves.
I can post directly to you or the recipient.
Do you have a minimum call out fee?
The minimum spend for each appointment is £30. Additionally, for all appointments outside of an 8-mile radius from Beckenham, an additional fuel charge of £5 will be added to your invoice.
Unfortunately, due to the cost of fuel, it’s really not economical to travel just for an eyebrow shape.
Can I purchase any of the products you use?
Yes, of course.
Neals Yard often offer very generous offers and discounts on their products and as a consultant I can pass these on to you.
Vinylux polish and micro plane foot rasps and shellac removal kits can be ordered on request.
Some Products I use are for professional use only but I can always recommend a safe alternative.
What are your Qualifications?
NVQ 2 & 3 Beauty Therapy amongst many other shorter courses
I studied a three year course at West Kent college and have been working as a beauty therapist since 1999.
Previously having worked in spas both in the UK and the USA I started beauty by Kate 10 years ago.
I hold an individual therapist licence from Bromley council and am fully insured with BABTAC.
Cancellations and No Shows
With our busy lives, there will always be times when we need to reschedule appointments, which is absolutely fine.
I ask for at least 48 hours notice of cancellation so I can offer the appointment time to someone else who may be waiting or enjoy some time off.
Less than 48 hours would incur a 50% cancellation charge.
Anything less than 4 hours notice, that often sees me sitting in the car for hours on end with no income having already spent time and fuel traveling, then I would regretfully have to ask you to pay the entire treatment cost.
Beauty Therapy After Covid-19
As a professionally trained beauty therapist, ensuring the highest level of hygiene is essential for the safety of clients and therapists.
I have completed the Coronavirus (Covid-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry. My priority is to keep you as safe as possible, prior to re-opening and have implemented several changes outlined in this Covid-19 prevention and control policy.
Covid-19 has disrupted many industries and the beauty industry is one of them. Now more than ever, professional and proper health and safety standards must be applied across the industry. To ensure safety, I will continue to implement the following measures:
- Ensure thoroughly washed hands with the use of alcohol gel, gloves to be worn where necessary
- All towels and blankets are freshly washed but you are more than welcome to provide your own
- All equipment will be cleaned, sterilised and stored safely after each appointment
- If client or therapist has a high temperature and is feeling unwell, the appointment should be rescheduled
